Institutional Affiliates

The OBTS Institutional Affiliates program is designed to strengthen the link between the OBTS Teaching Society for Management Educators and a limited number of AACSB Accredited institutions that recognize the importance of teaching excellence to the academic mission. Current Institutional Affiliates include the Drexel University, Indiana University, University of Arkansas, University of Massachusetts, and Widener University.

Each Institutional Affiliate receives benefits designed to enhance university teaching. First, they receive a confirmed slot and scholarship for an ABD or similar doctoral student for our popular two-day preconference Doctoral Institute (DI) and also for the annual OBTS Teaching Conference for Management Educators (held in June) OR a scholarship for one faculty member to attend the OBTS Teaching Conference for Management Educators. In addition, they may appoint up to 5 faculty or doctoral students as individual members of OBTS, with full member benefits that include a subscription to the Journal of Management Education and access to the members-only section of our website.

OBTS believes these benefits are both meaningful and visible ways for AACSB Accredited institutions to support the importance of high-quality teaching and the relevance of teaching competence to the preparation of future scholars.

The annual dues for an Institutional Affiliate are $1,000/year.
